LLP SUMMER ARTS

This summer I had the pleasure of working, no, creating, with some of the most wonderful young spirits. I returned to my alma mater, Endicott College, to teach at the Learning and Leadership Program (or LLP). This amazing summer program is offered as a leadership and continuing educational experience to some of the amazing kids in Lynn via the Public School system there. They got to do trainings, experience the science and tech that Endicott had to share, and of course check out the gorgeous beaches there for some summer sun.

However, I was most excited to be their art teacher for part of their program! We had several lessons and real studio length courses, which meant getting extended creativity time, which I think is invaluable, especially at that age. We created mandalas, learned about mythology, experimented with Matisse inspired paper-cut images, and drew (or should I say grew?) our own trees of life. I am so happy to have worked with this amazing program, and hope that these students keep a place for art in their lives as they grow into high school students next year.
